Donald Trump Announces Massive Lawsuit Against Big Tech Giants & Their CEOs

Former President Donald Trump recently announced a lawsuit over alleged censorship against Twitter, Facebook, and Google, as well as their CEO’s Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai, and Jack Dorsey. He said the lawsuits will prove that his censorship is unlawful, unconstitutional, and completely un-American. He said they are demanding an end to Big Tech’s shadow-banning, silencing, blacklisting, banishing, and canceling.

“I stand before you this morning to announce a very important… development for our freedom and freedom of speech. In conjunction with the America First Policy Institute, I’m filing, as the lead class-action representative, a major class-action lawsuit against the big tech giants, including Facebook, Google, and Twitter, as well as their CEOs,” Trump announced.

Trump announced the lawsuit from his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, and said it will be filed in the Southern District of Florida and led by the America First Policy Institute (AFPI). He said he will seek “injunctive relief” against the shameful censorship of the American people and ensure that these companies are not co-opted, coerced, and weaponized by the U.S government any longer.

The three Big Tech platforms removed the former president from their platforms after the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol and his claims about the 2020 presidential election. Trump is completely banned from Twitter and is banned from Facebook for another two years. Facebook even warned Trump that when he comes back to the platform he will have to live by “special rules.”

“When the suspension is eventually lifted, there will be a strict set of rapidly escalating sanctions that will be triggered if Mr. Trump commits further violations in future, up to and including permanent removal of his pages and accounts,” the statement reads.

Trump said there is no better evidence that Big Tech is out of control after they banned the sitting president of the United States earlier this year, adding that if they can do it to him then they can do it to anyone. His Facebook ban is expected to continue through the 2022 midterm elections, where Trump is expected to play a key role for Republicans.

Trump talked about how the government used Big Tech as a tool for censorship and that “this was especially clear during the pandemic,” citing policies against health experts and suppressed information about the Wuhan Lab Leak theory.

AFPI President and Ceo Brooke Rollins said it’s no surprise that Big Tech wants the First Amendment gone and that there hasn’t been more evidence in the suppression of First Amendment rights online than there is now.

AFPI member Pam Bondi adds that the lawsuit isn’t just for conservatives, but for our media and Democrats whose speech should also be protected under the First Amendment. “Do you remember that Tulsi Gabbard was censored when she was running for president?” She asked.

While Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act makes it unlikely for Trump to win the suit, it draws attention to encourage GOP lawmakers to go after the social media monopolies in Congress. It also publicizes Trump’s fight for free speech, which comes at the same time as the rumors that he will be creating his own social media network soon. Whether he wins it or not, it’s a smart move for a government in power that continues to suppress free speech.

The lawsuit news comes after Jason Miller, Trump’s former staffer, announced the platform GETTR, which was described as a site similar to Twitter. The platform’s mission statement reads that it is a place to fight cancel culture, promote common sense, challenge social media monopolies, and create a true marketplace of ideas.

Trump should look at merging his lawsuit with all of the doctors and true scientists who were censored and suppressed for speaking out against Dr. Fauci last year. They talked about possible alternative drugs and the origins of the disease, but it didn’t fit the government narrative of getting an mRNA vaccine or being a grandma killer forever. Big Tech took too much power and it’s time for the American people to get some of that back.
