Leftists Serve Pelosi With Eviction Notice, While Progressives Rip Fellow Dems

The government has created a huge problem with their lockdown restrictions that killed many people's jobs, so then the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) imposed an eviction moratorium in March 2020, which was questionable constitutionally. That moratorium had the further effect of kneecapping landlords, who could still had to pay all their mortgages and property taxes without the rent.

But now, the eviction moratorium expired yesterday, and that's going to create a huge mess with all the folks who weren't paying (despite still contractually being obligated to pay).

Progressive members of Congress had been protesting on the steps of the U.S. Capitol to get House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to extend the moratorium. The Biden team said they couldn't do anything because of a recent Supreme Court decision, so they booted the issue to Congress. Then Congress adjourned for vacation yesterday, leaving the coming problems unaddressed and infuriating the progressives.

Rep. Cori Bush blasted other Democrats for leaving. “We could have extended it yesterday, but some Democrats went on vacation instead,” she tweeted. She was joined at the protest by other members of the Squad, including Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

But even while that was happening, there was inter-leftist fighting over demanding even more.

That's one of the reasons the left has always failed in the past. They can never get their act together.

While that was happening in D.C., housing activists in San Francisco went to Pelosi's home to protest her there.

About 40 people showed up and taped an eviction notice to her door, to remind her that people are facing eviction.

From Fox News:

“The reason that we're at her house is that she has a beautiful mansion in Pacific Heights in San Francisco, and it shows how out of touch she is with the people that are facing a situation [of eviction],” Christin Evans, one of the activists outside of Pelosi's home, told Fox News.

Evans says the housing and homeless crisis was already bad in San Francisco but coronavirus made it worse with people losing their jobs and facing medical emergencies.

“We wanted to essentially send her a message that we want her to reconvene Congress to take a vote [to extend] the eviction moratorium,” Evans told Fox News.

The COVID bills that passed in December and March have only provided relief to a small number of the 1.2 million households that have reported being “very likely to face eviction in the next two months,” according to the Treasury Department.

Leftists are right that Pelosi deserves eviction, but she deserves eviction from her job as House speaker. They haven't seemed to have any interest in resolving this problem; they just made it worse. They knew it was coming and, like everything else, they now have left it a mess.
