I'm going to purposely bury the lede in this one. I want to start by walking through an exercise that, for the rational among us, might seem like an exercise in futility but is quite simple when properly approached:
Understanding the mind of the Democrat.
Specifically, in this case, understanding the mind of the Democrat politician.
First, an understatement: Liberals don't think like rational people. This does not suggest they're stupid. On the contrary, Democrat lawmakers are, on the whole, quite intelligent — but they use their intelligence to manipulate, exploit, attack, and lie. In other words, they don't think or behave like the rest of us.
Everything the Democrat Party supports, opposes, proposes, or rejects can be connected to the ballot box with no more than two dots. Exploiting Black America for more than 60 years is a quintessential example.
Democrats have pandered to Blacks mightily through six decades, promising this, pandering to that, always an eye on the voting booth. They have made hollow promise after hollow promise, most of which never happened. And those that did happen have generally only made things worse for Black America.
But here's where the genius of Lying Liberalism comes into play.
The Democrat Party has convinced the majority of Blacks, “While we might not have delivered everything we've promised, just think how much worse off you'd be if you didn't have us to protect you from the evil Republicans.” Hence, Black voters dutifully line up in every election, decade after decade, and dutifully and overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Why? Because by and large they've been programmed to do so.
The first bottom line:
This is the same strategy the Democrats have employed with Hispanics. Including the embrace of importing as many illegal aliens into the country as they can get away with. As is the case with Black voters, Hispanic voters have historically overwhelmingly voted Democrat.
But here's the thing. If Quinnipiac or Gallup sent pollsters to the Southern border and found that 75-80 percent of illegal aliens streaming into the country would vote Republican if ever given the vote (that's not what they'd find but stay with me), Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Joe Biden, and the entire Democrat Party would race to the border — with CNN and MSNBC in tow — lock arms, and form a human chain stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico in a frantic effort to keep them out of the country.
Memo to the Democrat Party: That shift is already underway. Bigly.
"The concern about Democrats espousing socialist policies grows with each successive generation [of Hispanic voters]. Among children of immigrants, almost half (49%) were more concerned about Ds and socialism, and by the 4th generation, it rises to 60%."https://t.co/SFroN7BU6y

How bigly? A recent poll found that 42 percent of Hispanic Voters have walked away from the Democrats and toward the Republican Party since 2018. That is profound. Warranted, but profound just the same.

According to the latest Rasmussen survey, 48 percent of the Hispanic voters would support a generic Republican on the ballot if the 2024 presidential election were held today, compared to 46 percent for the generic Democrat. Two points. No big deal? Margin of error? Given just three years ago, big deal indeed.
Via Rasmussen (emphasis, mine):
The decline in support for Democrats likely has many causes. In terms of legislation, the president's Build Back Better plan is weighed down by a large number of extraordinarily unpopular provisions.
Additionally, Democrats are seen as a bigger threat to democracy than Republicans. In their push for election reform, Democrats have sought legislation to outlaw three election reforms that are supported by more than 80 percent of voters.
Beyond specific legislation, there are many broader concerns. Most voters recognize that, compared to pre-pandemic numbers, there are far fewer Americans with a job these days.
Politically, this is a very challenging issue for Democrats. Two-thirds of voters say economic issues are more important than cultural issues. Yet only 37% believe that Democratic politicians and activists are primarily interested in economic issues.
The second bottom line:
Hispanic voters are not going to dutifully line up for decades and dutifully pull the “D” level. On the contrary, while Democrats pander to Black Lives Matter, Hispanics are clearly saying Policies and Results Matter.
According to a City University of New York study, roughly 18.7 million Hispanic Americans registered and voted in the 2020 election. The number is expected to continue to increase. Think about that.
Given that the Rasmussen survey results were based on a generic ballot, it stands to reason that if Biden runs in 2024 — particularly given the above issues — or Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, et al., the future relationship between Hispanic voters and the Republican Party look pretty bright.
And one thing is certain: Democrats gonna Democrat.
Might be time for Pelosi, Biden & Co. to head to the border sooner than they think.
Speaking of reasons to abandon the Democrat Party:
