Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshynova, Fox News Journalist, Also Killed in Kyiv

After the earlier report about Fox News Channel (FNC) cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski's death during an attack in Kyiv, the network released an update stating that Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshynova, 24, was also killed during the same incident. Benjamin Hall, a third journalist, was injured and was still being treated at the hospital.

Anchor Martha MacCallum shared the heartbreaking update about Sasha's death.

The announcement the Fox News network shared with staff explained that Pierre Zakrzewski and Oleksandra “Sasha” Kuvshynova were killed while reporting from Kyiv with Benjamin Hall when incoming fire struck their vehicle. Oleksandra was only 24 years old and a consultant in Ukraine. Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, said that Sasha had helped its teams navigate the city and gather information from sources, working around the clock to help Fox share the story of Ukraine with the world. Producers and correspondents described her as hardworking, funny, kind, and brave–what you need to be to do this type of work. Fox further extended its deepest sympathies and gratitude to her family. “Only 24 years old, doing brave and courageous work.”

As the Russian Armed Forces’ offensive near Kyiv intensified, there were more casualties in addition to those of the FNC team. Journalist Brent Renaud also lost his life.
