Space Sex? NASA’s Next Mission

NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) has been involved in many interesting missions over the years. This is how we have learned more about the planets and the possibility of living on Mars. Most people see NASA's missions primarily as ways to find out if it's possible to live elsewhere. Will there be another place we can colonize if Earth is destroyed?

NASA is now ready to discuss sex in space, claiming that no human has ever had sex with another person in space. It's now time to study the effects of gravity in low-gravity environments. They say it will prove to be crucial for long-haul missions both to Mars and the Moon.

Consider some of the missions that would require astronauts to be away from Earth for many years. Is it possible for them to remain celibate in order to pursue science? Healthy libidos are healthy people. There's no reason to make it compulsory for anyone to be celibate.

At the moment, professional astronauts are the ones going on long-haul space missions. What happens when there are more people who want to explore space travel? Civilians, including couples, will be more likely to venture into space, and it is possible to have sex in space, regardless of whether the government space agencies wish to admit it.

This extends beyond the mile-high club. This is the 62-mile-high club. Some researchers believe that space hotels may be possible in the future.

NASA has always maintained that no humans have ever had sexual relations in space. This was the firm response NASA gave in the past. Because no married couples have launched together into space, no one is going to admit to it.

A NASA spokesperson stated that crew members are always safe and healthy. The Human Research Program (HRP) examines the hazards associated with human spaceflight. NASA will take appropriate measures if it determines that there is a future need to conduct a more detailed study of reproductive health in space.

Imagine signing up to that study: Space trip free of charge, but you must be willing to have sex with other people in space. Science will make observations. It sounds quite voyeuristic.

NASA has not yet committed to such a study, but there are many scientists who have spoken out about the necessity of sex in space to colonize a new planet–likely to be at least a few decades in the future.

But researchers are interested in exploring the option. It is expected that a trip to Mars will take between seven to nine months. Many would also like to live on Mars for at least a year using space-dome housing.

Is it possible for astronauts to have sex in space and conceive babies while they are away from Earth? Is there anything to be concerned about? It's impossible to know until the experiment is completed. It would be easier to find out about side effects and problems in controlled experiments than to deal with an “oops.”

Canadian scientists are particularly keen to study sex in space. “Rocket science might take us to outer space, but it will be human relationships which determine if and how we thrive.”

The ISS (International Space Station) is investigating sex among the animals aboard first. If it's successful, it could open the door to humans having sexual relations–and space tourism may become more feasible.
