Elon Musk, Tesla's chief executive, recently gave an interview for a technology podcast, stating that he'd possibly vote Republican in the next election. He also claimed that Twitter has a “very far-left bias” and said that he saw his attempt to purchase Twitter as an effort to create a “moderate” take-over to stop the bias.
However, he didn't stop there. He chose to go all out and throw caution to the wind on Wednesday. Not only did he confirm that he would vote Republican, but he also attacked the Democrats as an organization that promotes “division and hate.”
“In the past, I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party,” Musk explained. “But they have become the party of division and hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican. Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold…?”
He's right on the mark in the context of Democrats. But he is aware that saying this can have consequences. “Political attacks on me will escalate dramatically in coming months,” he said, analyzing what would be in store for the future. He predicted that “dirty tricks attacks will be [the] next-level.”
Musk could already be being penalized for his refusal to align his actions with the narrative. Tesla was taken off the S&P 500 ESG (Environmental Social and Governance) Index. The reason for this was due to their “low carbon strategy.” What if they made electric vehicles? What other strategy is required? The index also claimed that it had received “claims of racial discrimination and poor working conditions” at one of Musk’s Tesla manufacturing facilities. When Tesla was shut out, Exxon was ranked in the top ten. This demonstrates how important an assessment really is.
It appears that he has a sound reason to believe that they're about to hit him with both barrels without reluctance. He's already demonstrated a willingness to take on the challenge and fight. We'll see if the battle continues and if Musk’s purchase of Twitter is completed. They are afraid of losing control, and that's why it's vital that it occurs. Hopefully, he's able to keep fighting, as we've seen it produce positive results, such as people, including Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, speaking out against President Joe Biden. If one prominent person challenges authority, it reduces its ability to impose its will on us all.
