North Korea reportedly fired a ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan, the Japanese government has announced in a report by NHK News.
The test firing took place in the early morning hours of Saturday, and would be the 18th firing test in the calendar year, according to an earlier report from the foreign policy expert Samuel Ramani. This was only a few hours prior to the actual test.
It is believed that the South Korean military also confirms that the firing of the “unidentified” missile occurred, Yonhap published.
North Korea continues to do these tests in order to cause fears among their adversaries in the region.
