Fox News is now reporting that the investigation has reached a “critical stage.” Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss was looking at the possibility of charging Hunter Biden after the grand jury had concluded its last term in March but hasn't made the decision.
The source told Fox News on Wednesday that Weiss and Justice Department officials were looking into whether to charge Hunter Biden with various tax violations and, more seriously, possible foreign lobbying violations. The source said Hunter Biden could face possible false statements charges.
But the source said no final decision has been made on whether to charge Hunter Biden, and stressed that the investigation is ongoing.
Fox News first reported in December 2020 that Hunter Biden was a subject/target of the grand jury investigation, according to a well-placed government source. According to the source, a “target” means that there is a “high probability that person committed a crime,” while a “subject” is someone you “don’t know for sure” has committed a crime.”
The federal investigation into Hunter Biden was predicated, in part, by Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) regarding suspicious foreign transactions.
Another source familiar with the investigation told Fox News in December 2020 that the SARs were regarding funds from “China and other foreign nations.”
In fact, CNN is focusing on it as well, which could be a sign that we're getting closer to critical mass in this situation because CNN generally avoids Hunter Biden stories. CNN reports that the false assertions could include lying on this form to obtain guns as reported previously.
CNN claimed that they were trying to reduce it to tax costs as well as the firearm. If so, it could give Joe Biden an out if it doesn't fall into lobbying by foreigners—which could be a big concern.
Senator. Ron Johnson (R-WI) has expressed his concerns that they could work out a plea deal in conjunction with Hunter Biden that might shut down further investigations into the events that took place regarding foreign contacts and Joe Biden. It has been reported that there were additional connections revealed in the relationship between Joe Biden and Hunter's business acquaintances. This was in addition to the troubling comments Hunter made regarding the extent of his Russia and China connections. There's a lot that connects Joe, but will they ever get there?
