There's been a flurry of mask theater by the Biden team in the last couple of days, ever since Biden was diagnosed with COVID.
Biden posted a photo on Thursday, after his diagnosis had been revealed and word spread that he was segregating himself from others.
However, as we've noted, the man wasn't completely isolated as at least one person was in the room (who was the one who took the photo). What was the location of his mask? The way he was acting wasn't in accordance with CDC guidelines. “Wear a well-fitting mask if you must be around others in your home,” the advice states.
When reporters asked White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about what was going on, she replied she said that “he took off his mask so that the American people could see him and see directly that work he is doing.” Oh. It must be because “the American people have to see me” in a way that is not allowed by the rules. Makes perfect sense.
In the meantime, Jill Biden was wearing the surgical mask (well she's a doctor) as she walked around. And even Dr. Zeke Emanuel didn't think it was appropriate to follow the mask guidelines for theaters and criticized her for the matter.
Biden wears a mask -which isn't very useful outside; however Biden isn't wearing one inside with at least an additional person. This makes sense. Not.
There was a brief moment of CDC guidance flouting by Kamala Harris. It was following Joe Biden's diagnosis, and when she was deemed to be a “close contact” of Biden. She first hugs one person, and then removes her mask and hugs another person.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and White House coronavirus coordinator Ashish Jha were questioned about this, but could not explain it away.
You'd think that it was after all the “wrong” mask theater this week — when they were being criticized for their actions and even the media questioned the masks' authenticity and inability to follow CDC guidelines They should be paying attention now to perform the correct mask-making.
We now have this image from Friday afternoon in which Biden boasts about the price of gas dropping. It's the same thing again: there's no mask. This must be the same situation once more. Another “rules for thee” moment. The photographer must be able to be replaced. In addition, when Biden blamed Vladimir Putin for the rise in prices for gas. He wants to claim credit for a fall of 50 cents even though it's not because of him but due to the decrease in demand. We're not buying it, and I don't believe anybody else is either.
However, he was so focused on the gasoline price lie that he completely forgot to blow off the fake theater ruse. It's difficult to keep the lie straight especially when your name is Joe Biden.
