We discussed on Tuesday that Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin is on the Biden White House's radar in a negative way due in large part to his outstanding live reporting about the situation in the border region of the Southern United States. This gives a face to the issues that communities along the border are confronting due to the Joe Biden-instigated increase in border crossings that are illegal.
“In recent days, several current and former White House and administration officials expressed to West Wing Playbook their increasing frustration with [Melugin's] on-air coverage, arguing that there is an alarmist quality to it, designed to feed political narratives rather than illuminate the actual issues feeding the migrant flow,” Politico covered.
The update to this story is just as unsettling as the previous one, but with different motives.
On Wednesday, the Playbook of Politico stated that a “Democratic source” contacted them to inform them that in their earlier article, they weren't even able to go to the “best part” about Bill Melugin, that during his early years the reporter was offered a job at Abercrombie and Fitch because he seemed attractive:
“In reaction to the top story last night story Fox News' BILL MELUGIN, one Democratic source wrote to inform us that they “left out the best part” Melugin's former part-time work in one Abercrombie & Fitch store that was famous for hiring males with certain physiques.”
In 2011, Melugin who was known as Billy at the time, was quoted in the Arizona State University student newspaper the story of how Abercrombie had been “always going out into the public trying to find people that fit their look.” He said that he was studying outside for a test at which point “two of their recruiters came up to me, said I had a great look and offered me a part-time job.”
Wow, the guy who had a part-time job working in retail and looked stunning as he went about it. This is a huge accomplishment by the “Democratic source.” Like completely. My hat is off to the team for making an amazing dunk.
As I mentioned earlier, the current assault on Melugin is as gruesome (not to mention disgusting) as the one that revolves on his reporting of the White House but for different motives. Since when is working part-time and looking attractive thought to be a detriment to someone's professional career? Is Melugin's sexiness and his looks the only thing Democrat people who are critical of his reporting are reduced to?
You consider the extremely likely possibility of this “Democratic source's” claim to fame during their beginning years was being second-place in the Hall Monitor of the Year in high school; Melugin would have the upper end of the bargain here.
This source might want to meet Melugin, or perhaps something else.
In any case, it's clear that Biden’s White House isn't a fan of having their monumental failings at the border broadcast for the entire world to watch on the evening Fox News programs – not to mention the regular fact-checks Melugin conducts in response to their assertions including receipts.
This is why they're now following a very typical name and shame mission following Media Matters doing the same task, but they aren't aware that journalists such as Melugin do not retreat easily as we've seen from him in the last one-and-a-half years at the border area and reporting on L.A. crimes.
A friend of mine in the media once told me that making politicians feel uncomfortable is a major aspect of the job of a journalist. It's clear that BidenCo. are extremely uncomfortable with the revelations from Melugin, as seen beneath in an image of the day.
