Two Shot Outside Lee Zeldin’s NY Home

Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), who is currently running for governor against New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, announced that there were two people shot in front of his house. He claimed that his two 16-year-old daughters were home when they heard the shots.

“My daughters Mikayla and Arianna were doing homework on the first floor,” told Zeldin, who was not at home at the time. “They were hearing the shots. Boom! The kids went up and locked themselves inside the bathroom.

“They're freaked out,” the congressman declared of his teenage girls. “One of the bullets was found 30 feet from where my daughters were doing their homework.”

A bullet struck Zeldin's fence, and police believe the shooting could have been related to a gang, but not connected to Zeldin who runs with a tough-on-crime stance in the face of the increasing crime that is taking place in New York.

“Just happens to be ironic,” one source said to The Post.

A victim leapt over the fence of the congressman's house in an attempt to avoid being shot while the bullets exploded through the fence, causing damage to the “Zeldin for Governor” sign as well, according to reports.

Sources have said that one victim was wounded in the chest, and the other was injured. [….]

“The local police have cordoned off the area,” he added.

A law enforcement source told police there was blood on the property.

“Crime is out of control,” Zeldin stated in an interview. “Like the majority of people in New York, it seems that crime has got to our doorstep.

“There was blood in the rock right next to the porch,” Zeldin said. “One of the victims was under the porch. Another was under the porch in bushes.”

Zeldin admitted that he wasn't sure who they were, and they were supplying security footage from their residence to police.

Wow. If this can happen in front of his home on Long Island, you know how dire the situation is here in New York.

They could have been nervous because Zeldin was the target of an attack on Zeldin at a talk in July.

Zeldin has been making gains over Hochul during the election, and it's currently neck and neck due to the fact that Zeldin has been focusing on issues that people care about, such as crime.
