Mandela Barnes’ Campaign Falters as CBS News Attacks Ron Johnson

Some very important things are happening at the moment that is causing the mainstream media and Democrats to be in a state of panic.

Despite the efforts of the media to hype a supposed Joe Biden/Democratic-party “comeback” over the summer after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the truth of the situation has become apparent as the economy and inflation have been the main focus once more and the GOP is being viewed by the large majority of Americans as the party that will be able to best fix things.

Additionally, there has been the failure of a number of Democrats campaigning for higher offices, such as Georgia Democratic gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams and Wisconsin Democratic Senate candidate Mandela Barnes. Barnes was undermined by an unexpected source over the last week—CNN. CNN argued that Barnes’ claims that he was never an advocate of cutting funding to the police or eliminating ICE were false.

Another factor is the dismal (for Democrats) conclusion that focusing on the Capitol protests hasn’t helped them politically. It appears, however, that's not the opinion of CBS News, which sent reporter Caitlin Huey-Burns to report on Sen. Ron Johnson's campaign on Tuesday after he received endorsements from the Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police and the West Allis Professional Police Association.

In the course of the interview, Johnson was asked by Huey-Burns how he could claim to support the police and claim that there was no “armed insurrection” at the Capitol on Jan. 6 2021 at the same time.

Johnson stated that he had been repeatedly expressing his condemnation of the violence and made it clear that there weren't “thousands of armed insurrectionists” at the Capitol building at the time. He pointed out that the left had painted an inaccurate picture of what transpired in order to discredit thousands of people who back former President Donald Trump.

In a tweet of the discussion, CBS wrote that Johnson was “doubling down on the false claim” that there were not thousands of armed insurrectionists at the Capitol.

Stats from Democrat-friendly Politifact show that out of the two thousand or so people who stormed the Capitol, only a small few of those that were arrested had weapons:

Court documents, video evidence and news coverage show that several defendants present at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, had firearms — and dozens more wielded knives, bats and other real and makeshift weapons.

CBS News acknowledged in their story that crime is a big concern for Wisconsin voters. In addition, Wisconsin voters want their representatives to support law enforcement. In his attempt to defeat Johnson, Lt. Gov Barnes has received criticism on the issue as his polling has fallen. He now trails Johnson within the margin of error in the most recent polls.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that CBS News is trying to help Barnes on this by falsely portraying Johnson as a hypocrite for supporting the police even as he says there weren't “thousands of armed insurrectionists” at the Capitol. This and other false narratives about January 6th have been pushed by the media and Democrats, such as the inaccurate claim that Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick was “killed” or “murdered” by the rioters. In fact, the D.C. chief medical examiner stated that he died the next day of natural causes after having two strokes.

The media will do media-like activities, so expect lots from them between now and Election Day as they attempt to stop what is expected to be a huge red-wave in the House, and possibly the Senate too.
