Neocon Bill Kristol Nailed by Glenn Greenwald for His “Anti-Ukraine Right Is an Anti-American Right” Tweet

CNN anchor and Weekly Standard founder Bill Kristol isn't new to getting his butt whacked by genuine conservatives on a variety of issues. Although journalist and investigative journalist Glenn Greenwald isn't exactly a conservative, he recently hit Kristol hard on Twitter over one of his posts that attacked “the anti-American right.”

The shot by Kristol, followed by some chasers from Greenwald, went the way anyone who has knowledge of these two guys would expect it to go, with Kristol taking the loss in the end.

Like many other neocons, Kristol hasn't yet seen a foreign war-funding initiative by his country that he didn't continuously endorse. Thus, the endless conflict between Ukraine and Russia looks just right to Kristol.

Take a look at this Kristol tweet: “The anti-Ukraine Right is an anti-American Right.”

It makes a great bumper sticker. However, it is absurd in every other way.

Question: Does opposition to the ongoing depletion of U.S. military assets and the loss of tens of billions of dollars in taxpayer money qualify one for the status of “anti-American”? It does not. If one isn't in the out-of-touch Bill Kristol neoconservative world, that is.

Kristol's bizarre tweet was an easy target for Greenwald, who promptly hit it over the left-field wall: “The defining tactic of neocons has always been—and still is—to argue that anyone who doesn’t support their war policies is unpatriotic, anti-American, and of suspect loyalties. That’s what they did throughout the Cold War, the War on Terror, and now on behalf of Democrats.”

Greenwald took a second swing, swiping this one into the seats of the centerfield: “Literally no faction has done more damage of every kind to American life and to the world over the past several decades than neocons. That they’re now in a complete alliance with the Dem Party, and Democrats are trained to use their tactics, says it all.”

Operative words: “They're now in a complete alliance with the Dem Party.”

Two recent examples illustrate Greenwald's case, with the first being House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) hateful January 6 Committee, along with four words: Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney—both of whose vicious TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) cups run over with rage against former President Donald Trump.

The second case involves the uninformed congressional Republicans, including the 18 Senate Republicans who, on Thursday, voted with Democrats to pass the $1.7-trillion omnibus bill.

As Wisconsin Republican Rep. Tom Tiffany tweeted, the huge omnibus grants $44.9 billion to Ukraine as compared with $16.7 billion to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. “Democrats continue to protect a foreign country's border over our OWN,” Tiffany wrote.

And what does embattled Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) say? You can figure it out: “Rather than slowing assistance, we should be speeding up international deliveries to Ukraine…. Republicans pushed hard here in the Senate to increase the amount of security assistance in this bill…. This assistance is in our national security interest.”

How about securing your southern border, Mitch?

There's a stink in D.C., and it's time to dispose of the garbage.
