The Federal Bureau of Investigation may investigate other locations linked to Vice President Joe Bidenm for classified documents, CBS News is reporting.
This is following The Department of Justice locating six documents bearing classified markings in Biden's house at Wilmington, Delaware, on Friday. RedState reported:
“The news broke that Justice Department personnel searched Biden's Wilmington, Delaware home for 12 hours on Friday with Biden's personal attorney as well as White House counsel present, and discovered six other classified documents that they've obtained. The documents are from Biden's tenure in the Senate and at most 14 years prior to his time in the Senate. Other documents were from the time he was Vice President.”
Based on CBS News Radio White House Correspondent Steven Portnoy, there are at present between 25-30 documents total discovered which include documents from the Penn Biden Center as well as the garage of his in Wilmington.
Certain of the documents were compiled by Biden during his time as Vice President and senator.
“The DOJ requested that the search not be made public in advance, in accordance with its standard procedures, and we agreed to cooperate,” Biden's personal lawyer Bob Bauer said in a statement released on Saturday.
Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Robert Hur to serve as special counsel in the case of classified documents. Hur was employed in the Trump administration from the year 2018 until 2021, as an U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland.
